Biography

I am an artist with expertise in interactive digital media, traditional sculpture and teaching.

My sculpture has been in solo shows throughout New England and featured in exhibitions at the Dahesh Museum, the National Sculpture Society and the Parrish Art Museum. I have 15 years of teaching experience that includes the Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design. In the winter and spring of 2014, I was an Artist Educator in Residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in conjunction with the exhibition: The Passions of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux.

I worked at the video game company Harmonix, for almost five years on games both large and small. While at Harmonix, I was the Lead Environment Artist on Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved.

Artist with expertise in interactive digital media, traditional sculpture and teaching. Almost five years of video game experience as both Production Artist and Environment Lead. Traditional sculpture and drawing have been widely exhibited. Fifteen years of teaching experience that includes the Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design and Artist Educator in Residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


Harmonix Music Systems
Cambridge, MA  2009-2014
Artist  Served in many roles:

R&D Artist  2013-2014
Worked on teams of 4-5 people in the game engine Unity to develop new intellectual property primarily for mobile games.

Lead Environment Artist  2012-2013
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved (production phase) Managed a team of 5 artists that worked closely with designers, musicians and engineers to create dynamically interactive spaces and objects.

Environment Artist  2011-2012
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved (latter pre-production phase) Worked closely with an interdisciplinary team on the interactive design of each level. Also worked on many environment art production tasks:

Modeling & texturing environment assets
Layout and set-dressing
Environmental animation (animated models, textures, lights, etc.)
Particle systems
Rigging and set-up of physics-based touchable objects (plants, etc)

Prototype Artist  2010-2011
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved (early pre-production) One of two artists on the initial prototype. Continued to work on small teams exploring a wide variety of interactions that combined body-motion, art and music.

Character Artist  2009-2010
Rockband 3 and other projects:

Character skinning: clean-up and polish
